Summary
It was fragmented magic, pieced together by the folly of their youth, forged in blood, then bound by Syrax’s dragonfire. To make sense of this, only the eternal fire can be the cause. The fire before even the Old Gods spoke life into man. It is the blood of the dragon that creates a life worth living it whispered, and it would seem that such eternal fire wished for their children, hers’ and Alicent’s both, to share the same blood.

Or,
As children Rhaenyra and Alicent perform a soul binding ritual and unknowingly end up having a big ole fucked up family.
