“Tell me, Merlin,” Arthur’s voice was firm, but there was a quiet desperation in it now, as if he couldn’t bear the silence between them any longer. “Do you want this?”
The clone’s breath came faster, more urgent now, as it pressed against Merlin’s back, its body flush with his. "We’re waiting, Merlin."
Merlin’s heart pounded so loudly in his ears that he could hardly think. The tension was so thick now that it felt like a physical force pushing down on him. He could feel their combined energy—the magic, the desire, the unspoken agreement between them both. And for the first time, he wondered if he had already crossed a point of no return.
In that moment, there was only one truth he knew: no matter how it had started, this wasn’t just about fixing a spell anymore.
This was something entirely different.
