Summary

That afternoon found Macau laying on the couch-Pete hoped sleeping-as he sat in the bedside chair, playing with Vegas’ fingers. Suddenly the heavy door to the hospital room was thrown open and Pete startled.
Why was someone coming in without knocking? None of the machines had alarms going off-was there something so wrong they didn’t dare alert visitors?
Was Nop coming to deliver bad news? Did the Major Clan want Vegas off life support?
He stiffened, missing the feel of his gun. His head whipped to the door.
“I have graced you with my presence.” It was Tankhun. Of course it was Tankhun.
Who else would barge into the hospital room of a mafia heir who had been comatose for less than forty-eight hours while his younger brother was mourning their father?
Tankhun trailed off, staring at Vegas’ body, pale and hooked up to machinery, wrapped in bandages and covered in bruises. He looked almost lifeless.
How many times could this had been Tankhun? After Gun’s crazy kidnappings?

"I went in today to look at open transfers because Colton is moving to Kansas City in late June and Buckley just put in a transfer request a few days ago,” Sal said.
They had been texting yesterday. Evan had said he was hanging in there.
“The others. Hen. Howie. Ravi-Ravi Panniker. Any of them?” Tommy said, mind desperately trying to figure out if this was a group thing.
If it wasn’t a group thing-
“No. I looked three times over. Buck is the only transfer prospect from the 118,” Sal said.
-The alarm bells turned to klaxons.
Last summer, under Gerrard, Evan had found the 118 to be hell. He hated going into work, he came home tense and fell into Tommy’s waiting arms for long hugs. He didn’t love the job under a man like Gerrard, and he hated that fact. Evan lived for firefighting, but not under Gerrard. He had had the transfer paperwork. Tommy had encouraged him to use it.
Evan had always said not without his family. He had been firm on that. He’d shoulder this emotional drain of losing his love for a good chunk of his job before he left his family.
(Sal sees Buck's transfer request on the LAFD transfer website. Tommy know implicitly what it means and it's nothing good)

“He needs me,” He said. “Something triggered something in him. I don’t know what. But he’s broken. Can’t be alone. Needs me.”
“And what do you need? So you run to the aid of your ray of sunshine when he needs you and then when the reality hits that you love him more than he likes you, what do you do?” She asked.
“Put myself together again. Like I always do,” Tommy said.
“You’re not over so often for the kids. It’s because if you weren’t here or with Sal, you wouldn’t be eating or getting out of bed on your days off. You haven’t put yourself back together, Tom. You’ve just gotten good at putting on band-aids to pretend,” She said.
“Gina, he needs me. When the man you love calls you sobbing begging for something only you can give him-something you two built on trust- you can’t not run to his side,” He said.
(Mid 8x09 After hearing Eddie saying LA was just a job offer, Evan calls Tommy in a desperate need to get out of his head and to be good for someone, anyone. Tommy knows better than to rush back to Evan, but he does it anyways, because he's still in love)

“Eddie, I got trapped in a building yesterday. My pain is at a seven and I'm exhausted. You know you have free reign to anything in the kitchen besides that champagne bottle,” Buck said as he reached the kitchen.
“You’re always so-,” Eddie huffed. Buck just sat at the island cart and opened up the app on his phone and slid it over to Eddie before fishing out his croissant from the bag.
“Order breakfast on me,” He said.
“That’s not the point,” Eddie said.
“No the point is I was trapped with Ravi and all I could fucking think was-”
Was if I was doing everything in my power to save Ravi. If you would agree, when I repeated my actions back to you. Making sure he didn’t get a scratch because if he got a scratch, he would die, and it would be entirely my fault. Because you don’t have faith in me anymore so I don’t have faith in me.
(The Buck goes to Tommy's and Tommy takes Eddie to muay thai, pissed off, but as a friend fic)

8/30/23: I have decided to link this series to my main AO3 account so both coauthors are the same person I just had this series on a separate account originally.
I don't think I'll come back to this unfortunately. Sometimes I want to but given recent events on the server all the magic just feels gone and idk what to do with a certain AJ Hunter when I set him up as the trusted friend and I just feel like everything is... Gone. I want to be back in Nopixel 2021. But 2021 was hell IRL so I will stay in 2023. So idk???

Summary
A group of connected Tarkin/TK-421 one-shots centered around the idea that their affair lasted longer than a few days because I feel like their dialogue suggests that it did even though they didn't meet until ANH had already started and we all know ANH lasts like a week tops. But it's Star Wars and timelines sucks. But I enjoy writing secret relationships and relationships that start out as not a big deal and then turn romantic so they were right up my alley.
Also written unchronically because I realized I was never going to write my headcanon for them if I waited for a nice neat multichaptered idea to work itself out.

“I don’t know that I meant to save him,” Buck admits quietly.
