Grace coughed and stuttered, heat flooding his face as his cheeks burned bright red.
“Uh,” Grace muttered dumbly, covering his face with his hands. “You can see that?” Grace whispered.
Or Grace turned The Hail Mary around to save Rocky and Erid, but when they reunite Rocky can tell something is off with Grace.

It reminds him of one of the first things Rocky ever made for him, the oxygen rings representing his atmosphere. This time there’s just a single ring; the circumference is probably around seven inches, and instead of an iridescent blue the beads are solid xenonite, polished to a high shine. Each bead has a symbol — a letter, Ryland realises.
“It’s beautiful,” Ryland says with wonder. He traces his fingers over the raised writing. The beads are still warm. He finally looks up at Rocky. “What does it say?”
Rocky taps the wall and doesn’t answer.
“Rock?”
“You remember Friends season two episode 14?” Rocky says suddenly.

The man had a thick crop of greying black hair, and his arms were covered in scars, along with a few blotches of turquoise and green, like watercolour tattoos. The scars differed in texture – some were deeply carved creases in the skin, others were raised like keloids, all in deliberate patterns and shapes.
I recognised those patterns, those shapes. The family crest – one half on each forearm. The school and group markings. His rank. His mate-circles. His rulers and measuring implements, all carved into his body, all instantly recognisable.Oh god.

A freak accident puts Rocky, temporarily, into a human body. Whilst he and Grace wait for the reversal, they discover a lot about each other, and the nature of their relationship. Eventual smut, happy ending to come.

"Grace... like being examined?" I could tell the question was teasing. My cheeks heat.
"Maybe..." I mutter. Why am I feeling so shy? There wasn't anything... necessarily... weird about this, was there?~~~~~
Now that they are both safe and relatively healthy on Erid, Grace realizes he has some complicated feelings for his best friend. Rocky helps him sort through them.

I bury my blazing face in my hands.
“Rocky, you can't just say things like that.”
“I can and I will. Where does the medical robot keep the lubricant?”
