Lycaon is good at his job. He likes his employees enough to not put them through routine pizza parties, and after a string of non-starters, his newest assistant seems to actually be capable. Paradise Beyond the Horizon Line is a fanfiction featuring the Stellaron Hunters and their activities between the events of the Xianzhou Luofu and the start of the Penacony quests. It wasn’t unheard of for the Raiden Shogun to reward those in her service. There would be a ceremony to honour the fallen and acknowledge the living. Usually, rewards were things like mora or jewels, weapons or rare tomes. On the even rarer occasion, she allowed those of great importance or honour to choose the reward, a choice that tradition dictated that she would not deny.
Given the honour of such a gift, Sara struggles with choosing an appropriate gift- the struggle is only made harder when she realizes that her choice would reflect not only on herself but on the Raiden Shogun as well. But how does she choose something when she has never wanted for anything?
(And the one thing she does want, she doesn't deserve.)
