Loki let go and waited for the void to take him, to end his torment. Though little did he know it was just beginning. Now he's living on Midgard and sharing his body with a rather possessive symbiote. Though whether his life is better than it had been back on Asgard is still up for debate. He certainly could do without eating humans, but the tater tots weren't bad. He's just got to keep his head down, blend in, and act human. Easier said then done, apparently. Especially when Steve Rogers is your neighbor.
Set just after Thor 1 and taking a rather AU turn of events.
This story does not have a definitive closed ending, it has an open ending so that I may continue it in the future if there muse strikes.Loki is mostly not a sweet, innocent cinnamon bun.

Millenia have passed since Maliketh sealed the sword that conatined the Rune of Death into his own body. Since then, he's been driven by a mad hunger for deathroot. A hunger lasting for millenia has taken its toll on Maliketh's mind. Now calling himself Gurranq, he stays in the Bestial Sanctum praying followers can hand him deathroot for him to feast on.
As a newly ressurected tarnished of no renown begins to feed him deathroot, Maliketh's eternal hunger for deathroot begins to abate. As it weakens, Maliketh begins to remember the desires he has forgotten for so long. With his hunger for deathroot no longer crowding out every other thought, he is filled with a desire to explore his other hungers that have been neglected since the Shattering.

Over those countless lifetimes, death and turmoil were all seemed to follow, and it has taken a toll on the three of them collectively, none could admit, and decide to end the pointless cycle of war and hardship. In order to finally bring peace to Hyrule, and its neighboring countries, the two rulers trade something of equal value to one another as a sign of mutual respect that they hope will last this lifetime, their royal knights.
Reluctantly, Link volunteers himself in this endeavor to serve as Ganon's personal knight and has to carry out the rest of his days protecting, guarding and serving him.
