Summary
After their blowout fight over the pulled papers, Bradley had told Maverick that he never wanted to see him again. But of course Maverick, being Maverick, had found the loophole. Rooster hadn’t seen him since then—that hadn’t stopped the man from calling, though.
My take on Rooster getting a reality check when he thinks Maverick might have died in the Darkstar crash.

The anger, indignation, and fear had all clouded that simple fact, and now that they were on the same page, and just-barely not dead, he could breathe and really look at it. The wanting.
