Summary
Marty told Rust he'd have a place to stay after he left the hospital, and he meant it. He hadn't necessarily been expecting a week or two of recuperation to turn into a permanent kind of roommates situation, but Rust seems to have no intention of moving out, and Marty has no intention of kicking him out, either, for reasons he can't quite manage to articulate.
Which is to say, Rust has always been kind of prescient-- but Marty might not have guessed just how on the nose his joke about getting engaged was.

He is never chasing after a suspect younger than 15 again.
The little shit had had the cheek to dip into a previously unseen turn at the edge of the field—had leapt with practice, used to the terrain, over a particularly large stretch of mud and filth, hidden in the dark unless you knew it was there. Jean had not seen it until he was face first in it.
Thankfully, the precinct’s locker rooms are blissfully silent at this time of night. The night shift are already in situ, so no one will be using the facilities likely until the day shift returns in the morning. He is lord of this particular domain for the time being and intends to make the most of it.

Carl’s first impression of Akram is not his face or even his voice. It’s his solid weight settled on Carl’s belly, legs splayed wide, slacks riding up just slightly as Akram saves Carl from his pitiful attempt to bench press. Carl is secretly grateful to have a legitimate reason to be out of breath, not just the exquisite man perched sinfully on his lap. All in all, it’s an incredibly distracting way to meet his new assistant.

The girl stood still. There was a gentle tap-tap echoing in the air as she observed the room. Her fingers were wet, and her toes squished unconsciously into the puddle beneath her, an age-old habit from a childhood spent playing in the water. It was wildly inappropriate in the current situation, her mind helpfully pointed out.
Tap tap tap.
The noise mocked her. She inhaled a breath, disrupting the sound, and turned her eyes away from the tableau before her. Her fingers clenched into fists. Unhelpful, she couldn’t help but notice. The skinny little hands that sat at the end of her equally short arms were virtually useless. Tiny fingers unable to clench anything, palms to small to hold anything. Useless.
Tap tap tap.
The girl inhaled again, flexing bloody fingers into the cold air. She eyed the floor once more, or more accurately, the bloody mess that covered the floor. Her toes squished again.
OR: A girl is promptly horrified to learn that she has been reborn into Hannibal universe and is fairly certain of her impending death. She really shouldn't have gotten attached to the man that is now apparently her father.
