    The only reason Ono Toshiko thought she survived her consciousness waking in her third life was because she had those words ringing in her head.

    The thought of having to start all over again every time she died, of being denied the peace of an afterlife, was a horrific one.  Forging new bonds and finding new loves in each life only to lose them one after another.  Being eternally ground down by life and loss.  Forever denied her rest.

    Still, she’d been raised a shinobi in her second life - and no one could say she hadn’t been an excellent one.

    She would endure.

    And perhaps, in this third go-around, maybe hang on until she died of old age.

    You know.

    For once.

    The irony, when she realized where and when she’d been reborn, and as who, did not escape her.

    Either way, Phee intends on ending the games - she’ll use her grandmother’s songs and wiles and her grandfather’s powers of manipulation to do it, and fall deeply in love while she does.
