Summary
“It just… makes things fucking interesting, you know?”
“...Really. How so?” Robert said, drawing each of the syllables out slowly.
“It's like... a challenge," Flambae said, trying not to flounder. "I mean, sure, I pull whenever we go out but it’s like, not even hard, you get what I’m saying?” He over gestured to their table: “not when the only other competition for those interested in dick is a furry, a stoner kid made of rocks, some 3ft loser who’s already fucking whipped, and fucking… I dunno. Connecticut Clark.”
--
The one in which Flambae invents an intricate ritual rather than admit he finds Robert attractive.

Summary
When Robert notices Flambae's suit is partially made out of mesh, he begins to spiral. Badly.
"I don't hate your suit," he finally stated, trying to look as honest as he could when there were two bulging pecs mere inches from his face.
"Sure you don’t," Flambae muttered. "Then what are you fucking saying? You’re staring at my suit because…what? You can’t help staring at my amazing body?"
At the last mention, Robert couldn’t help but flinch, decidedly not looking at Flambae but at the mirror behind him. Which wasn’t ideal since it gave him a full view of his ass. Flambae continued to talk, but he could tell he was failing to focus on even a single word. Why did the translucent fabric have to end right before it got good?
The design felt as if it had been created specifically to tease him, and Robert loathed and loved every second of looking at it.

Summary
A unplanned road trip strands Robert and Chad in the desert after the Firebird breaks down miles from anywhere. With night closing in Robert begins to realize Chad isn't afraid of being stranded.
───☄─·✵·─☄───Nyctophobia — fear of the dark. Of spaces where nothing can be seen and every sound feels wrong. Fear sharp enough to make the fire spark, and the lingering dread of accidentally hurting someone just trying to get close.
───☄─·✵·─☄───The first sign was the sound.
A hitch in the V8's rumble. Small, barely there. Robert felt it through the bench seat before he heard it, a vibration that didn't match the road. The engine caught briefly and Chad checked the dash and nothing flagged, the gauges holding steady.
It came through the whole car, a tremor that started under the hood and traveled backward through the frame, rattling the rearview mirror and buzzing through the bench seat into Robert's spine. The engine note dropped and caught and dropped again, and the RPM needle twitched with it.
The Firebird shuddered harder and the engine coughed, flat and mechanical, and the speedometer began to slide, eighty down to seventy-five down to seventy.
