When taking Trucy to Kurain Village for their annual summer vacation, Phoenix is wary. Diego was released from prison earlier in the year and has been living in the valley with Maya and Pearls. Phoenix doesn't know what to expect, and the man he finds in that small mountain town is not the man he remembers from the courtroom. But then, Phoenix is a different person, too.

They become close and unravel revelations - completely changing the course of events that would lead to Diego's imprisonment. “...What is a maze if you are given a map? I am what you see before you, Mr. Trite. That’s all you have to work with.”Phoenix’s eyes dimmed as he heard the vague metaphor of an answer, but just as he’s about to give up - a chilly, tingling sensation washed over his eyes, causing Phoenix to blink multiple times instinctively. He knew this sensation, and he realized what this meant as his eyesight was tinged with a light green, so he immediately focused his eyes back on Godot.

“Godot called you sweetheart,” Maya says, squinting at him as if trying to find the answer from the expression on his face. Phoenix rolls his eyes. Of course, that is what she focuses on.
“I don’t question these things anymore,” Phoenix sighs, putting his head in his hands. Maya proceeds to make fun of his flushed cheeks for the next ten minutes, and Phoenix only threatens to fire her three times. It’s standard practice, really.
Four times Godot gets Phoenix Wright's name wrong, and the one time he gets it right.
