Summary
At first Finch saw only the dark shape of seaweed and driftwood. Then the lantern light caught a glint of wet hair, a pale cheek, a hand half-buried in the sand.
A man.
Finch knelt beside him, the cold seeping through his trousers. The stranger lay twisted on his side, clothes torn, skin mottled with bruises. His shirt was soaked with seawater and blood—too much blood.
Finch pressed two fingers to the man’s throat.
A pulse. Weak, but there.
“He’s alive,” Finch murmured.
Julek hovered close, eyes wide. “He wasn’t here before. I swear it. I was throwing stones and then—then he was just… there.”
********************************************************************************************
Dragged from the Baltic surf, the stranger is all bruises, blood, and a strange coded tattoo. Finch should be afraid—everyone tells him so—but something in the man’s quiet, storm‑like beauty keeps him from turning away. In occupied Poland, mercy is dangerous… and keeping this man alive may be the most dangerous choice of all.Bookmarked by Maryl

Something that came to me when I thought about some of the reasons why John said 'No' when Finch wanted to help him at the end of 'Devil's Share'

Summary
Finch and John have disappeared. Where are they? Are they in danger? Are they alive? Will Carter and Fusco be able to find out what happened? Will they be able to save themselves? Is that too many questions? Set in season 2 - Carter and Fusco are part of the team and Elias is still a threat. A hint of Careese if you squint. John whump - some Finch whump - Joan and Bear are in this, too.

Summary
I love going back over episodes and noticing things I hadn't before. In 'Cura te Ipsum' (s1 e4) the exchange in the diner between Reese and Dr. Tillman is so intense. John even tears up at one point - so powerful. But what really struck me this time was Finch's reaction to their conversation. He is nearly overwhelmed with emotion himself.
It's an interesting time in their relationship - they've been working together long enough to begin to know one another, begin to trust - but not long enough for real friendship.
That got me thinking - which then got me writing… And I realized that the episode is extremely well named.Bookmarked by Maryl
