Johnny often found himself lost in mental debates regarding his parents and the small family he had built with Gyro. A part of him was glad he’d brought up the subject now, but another one dreaded it. He couldn't fully bring himself to take the upcoming challenge head-on yet.
“Well, I’ve been thinkin’…” Johnny murmured, unsure. “Um… that I might write that letter to my father.”
The sudden admission had Gyro fully awake in record time. He stared into Johnny's blue eyes peering at him through the dim light. They held uncertainty, but a hint of hopefulness danced timidly across his irises.
