They had been over the plan several times already, Viktor lamented soundlessly, but he understood her nerves. Ekko, who was busy spinning himself in one of Viktor’s office chairs, slowed to a stop with an exaggerated groan, dragging the toe of his shoes along Viktor’s floor. “Vi, how many more times are you gonna make us—”
“Until it’s perfect, Ekko.” Vi interrupted brusquely. “Everyone needs to be on the same page about what they’re doing, where they’re supposed to be, and what we’re after. We’re not gonna get another shot at this for months if we fail.”

OR: The kids from Zaun have a plan—find whatever Jayce Talis has been working on and steal it. The Progress Day Gala is the perfect opportunity to do so. The only issue? Viktor has to attend to "present" his research to Heimerdinger. He should be in and out quickly—just long enough to get Vi into place and dip. If all goes smoothly, he'll never have to interact with Jayce Talis at all. Simple, right?

He’d been looking at it all wrong: it was not that Jayce had come to taunt him with the signs of his latest conquest, that he wanted Viktor to know he was decidedly not his—it was that Jayce had had a conquest and had ditched it (ditched her) to come crawling back to Viktor, pathetically begging at his door for his nemesis’ scathing words and derogatory comments, because even touches filled with contempt and deprecating comments did it better for him than the very best that Piltover had to offer.
And fuck if that didn’t substitute the anger in Viktor’s veins with a different kind of heat.

Viktor thinks his former partner and ex-lover Jayce is catfishing with his new look when he stumbles upon his account in Grindr of all places by accident. There's only one way to find out the truth: he sends him a tap and sees where it goes from there.
Not even a minute later, Jayce chats him up with a simple, sarcastic, and definitive, 'really, V?' and it only spirals from there.
'Why not?' Viktor replies. Then, he sends Jayce the location to his apartment.
