Summary
If the star crossed lovers from district 12 never went into the games, if they were never pitted against each other, doomed to fight and kill each other, if their stars weren’t crossed at all, what would have happened anyway?
Keeping Katniss's family fed without tesserae is not easy and Peeta's parents are pushing him to marry a merchant girl as soon as possible. The best way to escape starvation and a prison of a marriage is to marry each other, but that would require Katniss to let go of a promise she made to herself a long time ago, to never marry anyone.

Summary
This is a song fic based on Snow On The Beach by Taylor Swift for the 2025 Everlark Swiftmas Event! Expect lots of references to the song and cheeky little lyrical inserts, but if you don't know the song it's okay, you will understand the fic just fine without it.
Every year since that incident with the bread at the lake house, Peeta's family has been coming to Katniss's little mountain town for Christmas vacation. She's never found a way to thank him, but she always sees him at festivals, at the ski lodge, skating on the lake, somewhere. Everywhere. Every year since she was eleven she's kept an eye on that boy with the bread, but never spoken a word. Until this year, when he walks right into her new job at the Dandelion Bakery through the employee entrance like he owns the place and Haymitch says the boy will be giving her some on the job training.
Meanwhile Peeta can't believe his good luck. He's always wanted to get up the courage to talk to the pretty girl who sang at the Christmas Festival years ago, and now she's working in his uncles bakery?? Time to play it cool and pretend he didn't already know her name is Katniss Everdeen. Is giving her hot chocolate too much for a first meeting? Nah, probably not.
