Summary
It's 1999 and twenty-year-old Dean Winchester is doing his best to take care of Sam after their parents' deaths two years ago. It was tough at first but, after settling into his job as a closing supervisor at Hunter's Hollow's one grocery store, he's kept his head above water. Mostly.
But, come September, Dean's car stops working for no discernible reason. When he's walking home one night, the forest pitch black, he feels someone— something— breathing down his neck. Terrified, he runs.
When he emerges into the light, a strange man named Castiel approaches him. He's odd, this Castiel, with his piercings, combat boots, battered old trench coat covered in homemade patches, and bright blue eyes that shine golden in a glint of the light. The handsome stranger stirs feelings within Dean best left buried. Dean makes the man leave, certain he will never see that weirdo again.
But the moment in the forest isn't an isolated incident. Dean is in danger. Something out there wants him dead. Or worse.
Good thing Cas is always there to save him.

Classic "I need to be groomed" wing fic trope, just to save time so I could get to the good stuff. Cas' wings have slowly healed on their own but they are still a mess from the time they were damaged. Of course he needs a helping hand and Dean is more than happy to provide.
No angst, no gay panic, just clear consent, resolved tension, and loads of pleasure for Cas. I've always thought from what we know of Dean's character that he would be a very generous lover, especially with Castiel. Written for those who like positivity with their wing kink. I just love to see Cas safe, happy, and satisfied.

Any number of childhood traumas coming out to play? Knuckles painted with Sam’s blood, with Cas’s, with his own, Benny’s arterial spray Pollocking over his face?
Frankly, Benny thinks they’re lucky it manifests as nothing more than a few days of selective mutism, a Dean that’s a little more touch-hungry than usual.

Castiel's neighbor has a beautiful garden that he invites the neighborhood to pick from. Dean is sunshine and flower blossoms, drawing Castiel closer and closer into orbit every single day. He's inspiring in a way. So inspiring that Castiel decides to finally bite the bullet and retire. Bit by bit, Dean introduces Castiel to the wonders of domestic life, as well as the rest of the friendly neighborhood people.
There's something... strange about Dean, though. Perhaps it has something to do with how quickly his vegetables come to harvest, or the glitter that keeps falling out of Castiel's clothes every time they talk...
No- no. That can't be it.
