Summary
"I think this is probably just going to be one of these things," Eddie tells him. "You know, like… You could probably give me a whole manual and I’d still be weird about it. Like… I kinda just need to find a dick, suck it, and have it done with, y’know?”
“Well, you ever want help with that one, just hit me up,” Steve says, chuckling.
Steve really just wanted to help out.

Summary
Steve wouldn’t consider himself lonely. Sure, the kids had all gone their separate ways to college and sure, Robin was also long gone in Massachusetts, but he wasn’t lonely. Just…alone. In Hawkins. Which was fine. It meant he got to do things like meet Wayne Munson in the baking aisle on a Friday afternoon and get a kind-of-old second-best friend. Steve wasn't complaining, not even when Wayne kept bringing up his nephew...like a lot. He kind of sounded cool...
Or Steve becomes good friends with Wayne Munson who is more than happy to introduce him to his nephew Eddie.

Summary
Eddie doesn't know how they've gotten to this place where sometimes Steve just turns up like a bad penny, bloodied and hurt, like he's looking to Eddie to fix it.
Eddie can't fix anything. He can't even fix himself.
He can't even graduate high school. He definitely can't fix Steve Harrington's internal or external wounds.
Or:
Eddie finds himself watching, year after year, as Steve Harrington turns up at his place of work, beaten and bloodied.

Summary
“Most of the sides look the same!” Steve spits out in his frustration. “It’s all just the same color. And…and…look, some of the color tiles are different shades of the same color! How am I supposed to figure this out? How did you figure this out?”
Eddie, who had been leaning against Steve’s side, lounging on the couch, pulls himself short. “What are you talking about, Stevie? The sides are definitely not the same color.”
“No. No, ‘cause, look”—he holds up the cube to the light, pointing at different sides—“this one’s red, I know this one’s red. But this one? This one is…it’s just a lighter shade of red! And this one? This one’s white, but this one is also white.” Steve drops the cube to the couch. “See what I mean? Like…you must have some trick up your sleeve to tell the difference between those two white sides, right? And the blues? The reds? Unless you’re colorblind? Maybe that’s why we’re seeing it differently.”
