Summary

Summary
Phantom pains were something Johnny knew all too well.
Back when he lost his arm in the war, he swore he could still feel it sometimes. The twitching of fingers, the pangs of pain that he was helpless to alleviate. Being in V's body was much the same.
Though twitching and crying against his mangled brain, the mechanic arm, however, would one day become a part of him.
But V's body will never be his own.
Johnny's thoughts after Temperance ending mixed in with flashbacks from the events of the game. A small retrospective on the formative moments of Johnny & V's (very weird) relationship.

When I was eighteen years old, I made a decision. I was not going to live the same life that my sister was living, or that my mother had been living, or even my Gran. So, after one semester of community college, I decided that Omaha just wasn't going to cut it for me. I packed my clothes, took the remaining money I had from graduation, got into my shitty red Volkswagen and left Nebraska for good.
Penny knows what she wants in life. At least, she used to. Howard and Bernadette's wedding sets off a series of events which will change her life forever. Plans change and Penny will have to learn the hard way how to adapt.

“Lots of salvaging, foraging - You’ll be learnin’ to survive.”
Cee inhaled sharply. I’m not helpless, she wanted to tell him, but was that true? It felt like everything she had learned from her father hadn’t helped when it really mattered, but then again, herself and Ezra were only alive because of her, though she would never boast about it, especially because of her partner’s permanent disabilities, a direct result of her actions.
“We can’t stay here,” she spoke eventually. “I’ll learn. I promise.”
Ezra smiled sweetly, his dark brown eyes searching hers. “ ‘Atta girl. I wouldn’t have any other alongside me. You’re exceptional, birdie. We’ll do well for ourselves out there.”
“Foraging and salvaging.” Cee repeated, looking out the viewport at the starry night, the dancing lights coaxing her closer with their promise of adventure.
Ezra cleared his throat, a goofy grin on his face. “And, of course, anything we procure - even split?”
Cee turned and smiled back. “Of course.”
