    Summary

'What was in that potion?' he rasped, swallowing the pasty flavour in his mouth. His lungs felt unpleasantly raw, and a dull ache stirred to swift life in his temples.

Gaius scurried about, opening windows and retrieving some water, pressing a cup into Merlin's hands. 'In small doses, it's an excellent tonic for numerous fevers and ailments. However, it has some rather unfortunate interactions with those who use magic.'

Merlin closed his eyes in disbelief. 'Unfortunate how?'

'It varies. The more powerful the mage, the more... extreme the reaction.'

    ------

An accident in the healing rooms leaves Merlin confined to his chambers, ailing and miserable. There's a unicorn in the kitchens and a nymph in the marketplace well. The only silver lining is that Arthur is there to tend him. Will the distance that has grown between Camelot's king and his court sorcerer widen, or will they finally heal the breach for the better?

    Summary

Merlin leads a relatively content life - or as content as is possible under the rule of a magic-hating King. When the arrogant son of said magic-hating King starts becoming a regular at his coffee shop, Merlin is a little puzzled. When said Prince prat then proceeds to ingest a love potion on Merlin's watch that results in him having to move into the Royal Palace as Prince Arthur's (fake) boyfriend, Merlin wonders which deity he has angered. Things only get more complicated from there.

“Welcome to The Drip and Grind, what can I get for you?"
“The same thing I always have,” Prince Arthur says, sounding vaguely disdainful and unbearably posh. “One would think you’d remember my order by now."
Merlin scowls. He remembers His Haughtiness’ order perfectly well, but sees no reason to inflate an already unbearably large ego.
“You’re not my only customer,” Merlin keeps his voice coolly polite; barely.
“You realise that’s not the proper way to address me?”
And is that a smirk at the corner of the stupid prat’s, stupidly gorgeous mouth?
“Apologies, your High-and-Mightiness. Now do you think you can tell me your order or must I divine it from my crystal ball?”

    Summary

Merlin's job as PR junior on the royal account isn't as glamorous as people believe: Most nights, he's saving Arthur, Duke of York and black sheep of the family, from possibly committing monarchy-shattering shenanigans. When tragedy hits and Arthur is now second in line to the throne, the public doesn't react too favourably to the new Prince of Wales.

A solution has to be found and Merlin's contribution is key to the problem: Roped into posing as Arthur's fake boyfriend, he's supposed to make Arthur's popularity levels rise with his steadfast and relatable presence and elevate him from scandalous rake to romantic figure...

    Summary

A hand grasped his arm, sending a brief thrill down Merlin's nerves as he was forced around to face the person behind him. Armour gleamed in the firelight: supple chainmail glinted, and the solid iron of a pauldron curved lovingly over one broad shoulder. The length of a sword blade separated them. The point hovered, steady and sure, over Merlin's heart, braced to run him through, but he did not care about any of that. He was too busy drinking in the sight of the man before him.

He could never forget him, no matter how many centuries had passed.

    'Arthur?'

When Merlin ultimately fails in his destiny, the fading remnants of magic that linger in the modern world fling him not just back in time, but sideways as well. He ends up in a Camelot where all his friends are alive, well and aware of his magic.

He ends up in a Camelot where his alternate self died almost a year ago.

Can he, Arthur and their friends still forge the golden age he was once promised, or will grief and suspicion tear them apart?

    Summary

Gwaine grins against the pale skin, stopping to nibble at a particularly sensitive spot.

“Stop that,” Merlin says weakly, pushing weakly at Gwaine’s shoulder. “You’ll leave a mark.”

“Maybe that’s my wicked plan?” Gwaine says with a leer, pushing himself upwards on Merlin’s chest. “That way everyone will know that you are mine.”

Merlin smiles up at him, content and soft in a way that Gwaine hasn’t seen him since before Arthur became King.

“You could do with a good mark. How a man trails around after King Trouble-Magnet for years without a mark on him is an impressive feat.”

Merlin stills under his touch. It’s only for a short moment but Gwaine feels it none the less before Merlin’s body melts back down into the sheets.

“Oh, you know me,” Merlin says with a small shrug. “Just lucky I guess.”

    Or;
You've all read scar reveal fics. Well, this is an anti-scar reveal. With Merlin/Gwaine because there isn't enough imo.
