Summary
Zoey had finally started to get back into the rhythm of things, but.. that comfort didn’t last too long for her despite needing normalcy. Right up until she’d gotten a notification pop-up across the screen. She didn’t really know what to think when for the first time in maybe a year or two her father had texted her. Zoey eyed the contact with a mixed expression.
It wasn’t that she didn’t love him, but he’d never really acted fully normal around the topic of her music or her friends ever since she’d come out to him. It had been a while, to say the least.

Dad: Im in town for the week if its okay I drop by and see youZoey stared at the words, tapping her finger against her phone as she read the text slowly. She hadn’t seen her dad in-person for.. the better half of the past eight years. He had been distant in his way, but it didn’t change that a part of Zoey had hope starting to rise when she’d read his message. Her dad had never even been to Korea once in his life, so seeing that text she just knew it couldn’t be a coincidence.
He was here.. and he was here to see her.

Rumi’s drowning. They could see it, and yet life moved on like normal. But she still struggled, until one night when it was only her and Zoey left in the house. It happened so fast, without warning.. and Zoey had to be the one to keep her afloat.
Rumi was so impossibly mad at herself.
For wanting to do it, for not doing it, no one answer was going without her breaking down, eating her alive.
“Don’t let me go…” Rumi sounded afraid. So genuinely afraid, that it shook Zoey to the core as she tightened her hold on Rumi in reflex to the desperate plea. It was just them.. Zoey had to do this, she had to be strong for the both of them. She was petrified, blinking back the tears in her eyes and cradling her lover gently.
“I’m not.. I promise.”

Nyx wants to leave.
Maybe it’s all of her mistakes that weigh down her heart, or maybe it’s the fact she let down everyone she was meant to protect. Including a certain animal fairy her heart loved more than she knew she should, deep down.“So, what are you thinking about?” Fawn’s question finally came, direct and to the point since Nyx didn’t seem to fill in any unnecessary blanks between her words.
Not that the answers would have made Fawn happy whatsoever.
“I’m going away for a while.” Nyx said it so simply that she missed how quickly Fawn’s eyes had snapped onto her, widening in shock and maybe some disbelief. Leaving? How none of that had been the first thing Nyx said before now, she hadn’t a clue.
Nyx sighed to herself when she’d caught onto Fawn’s expression out of the corner of her eye, avoiding making eye contact and just looking off into the distance. ”It might be for the best, that’s all. Pixie Hollow could do with a little less hovering over.”
Fawn stared down at the scout fairy with a bewildered expression, and maybe even a dash of heartache in her surprise.

If no one could fly, if there was one talent far more dependent on their wings than any other—
The focus just might have been more tense.“It’s not so simple for us… If the tree dies, you all still have something to hold onto. Your talents will survive, but fast-flying fairies? That’s where our talent comes from.”
The control of their flight and their wings were what made them and their talents function. But without pixie dust?
Fawn was the first to understand the unspoken implication as she sat up a little straighter, her gentle hold on Tinker Bell falling slack. That optimism she’d gathered had withered with guilt when the understanding hit her like an acorn upside her head.
She didn’t know how they hadn’t caught it before.
“They’ll lose..— everything...”
