Summary
Sua wakes slowly, and not completely. She’s in that soft-sleepy sort of haze, where she feels and hears things but can’t bring herself to open her eyes just yet. Her body feels sweaty and‒ warm, unbearably warm, and she’s made increasingly more and more aware of the heat between her thighs as the seconds pass by.
At first she thinks she just happened to have a wet dream; she experiences them rarely, but it happens. A few moments pass by, maybe seconds, maybe minutes‒ she’s not entirely aware, until she realizes that the hands are still touching her even when she’s more awake; an arm wrapped under and around her, fingertips touching slowly up her stomach. A body, feeling impossibly hot, pressed against her back.

Summary
The dog collar shone in her grasp. Linked below was a golden tag, and etched into its surface was–
Mizi blinked, her ears growing warm as her jaw went slack.
No, it couldn’t be.
Surely she was mistaken. Surely, it was the perfume making her see things. There was no other reasonable explanation for what she thought she saw.
Mizi checked again, her eyes roaming over the same five letters until the letters bled together and her head grew woozy.
Puppy.
Mizi inhaled sharply, and it was then that a waft of vanilla rose up from the collar and circled Mizi like a cobra who had found its prey. It was almost ironic how sweet it smelled, when what she held in her hands was anything but.
The perfume still stuffed in her pocket seemed to have grown heavier, and Mizi was all of a sudden very aware of its presence.
Then, the computer beeped softly, and before Mizi could react, the video on screen began to play.

Summary
Sua isn’t naive.
She knows how Mizi looks at her. Not the affectionate look she’s adorned since they met, but the look that slides over Mizi’s face when she thinks Sua isn’t paying attention. It’s similar to the way those Segyeins—the ones that Mother parades her in front of—look at her. Like they want to devour her. But unlike those times, it isn’t fear that causes Sua’s skin to prickle with goosebumps. And it isn’t fear that makes her bite her lip.
It isn’t fear, but it’s close enough.
Except this feeling sometimes feels more dangerous than fear.
