“Hey there baby bird,” Red Hood’s voice had an element of energy to it that suggested he was smiling under that helmet of his.
“You’re not supposed to be here,” Tim replied, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the batarang.
Batman wouldn’t be happy to hear about the encounter.
“What’s going on, Robin?” Barbara asked over the comms, “Who isn’t supposed to be there?”
Tim didn’t answer, he didn’t need Bruce storming over there to get him. He could deal with one lonely criminal on his own.
“Don’t be like that,” Red Hood took a step forward, “I just came to talk.”

Tim felt himself relax a little at the decreased proximity, but he was still fairly tense.
“My survival instincts aren’t the problem.” He replied, “The problem is I have no idea why I’m here or why I’m still alive.”
“I may hate Batman a lot, but I’m not an idiot.” Red Hood took another step back, “I don’t want him on my back for killing off his new bird.”
“So, you kidnapped me instead?” Tim snorted, “Because that makes total sense.”
“Oh, believe me, I don’t want you here.” Red Hood replied.
Or: When Jason seeks out Robin killing him was never the intention, Jason just planned to rough the boy up a bit (okay, a lot), to show both him and Bruce how this wasn’t a job fit for a child. Except when he arrives it turns out someone beat him to it.

Jason Todd is dead and Bruce is still grieving when an alternate Bruce Wayne from a different dimension opens a gateway into his house. The alternate’s intentions seem benign, but while Bruce is in his manor he comes across that universe’s Jason, frightened and bruised.
Bruce takes him home but he has no idea what his alternate has truly put Jason through and for his alternate son he’s only traded one captor for another. Jason only sees one way out of the hell he’s in. Someone his old universe doesn’t have. Someone who’ll save anyone, no matter how broken they are.
Somehow he needs to find Batman.

Cass's hair is a disaster. Pulled too tight on one side, tangled and knotted on the other. There’s an elastic stuck in there somewhere, trapped in the escalating disaster that was the start of a French braid, along with half the comb that snapped off when Bruce tried to brush it out.
The seven-year-old glares at Bruce. Her Rapunzel doll gripped in an iron fist. She refuses to speak to him for the rest of the day.
“Well I don’t know what you expected,” Alfred says smartly, watching as Bruce pulls on the Batsuit later that night. “She asked for Rapunzel and you gave her Edward Scissorhands.”
Bruce bristles at the accusation. “Alfred, I can assemble and disassemble that Batmobile engine, blindfolded, in twenty minutes. It isn’t unreasonable to assume I could braid hair.”
“Oh yes,” Alfred drawls, moustache twitching. “Because little girls and car engines are exactly the same.”
OR;
Seven-year-old Cass asks Bruce for a Rapunzel braid. It does not go well.
