Pondering for a moment, the brown haired girl nods in agreement. “Fine, sure.” For a couple seconds, Jeff stays quiet with his gaze averting as he taps his foot on the floor. Finding this a little strange, as she isn’t sure she’s ever seen Jeffrey behave like this, Natalie’s attention turns back to the younger murderer as he speaks up again.

Sitting by the foot of the bed was Brian, a half-empty bottle of water and a nearly-empty tube of crackers in his lap. By the room's door was Kate, fiddling with her hoodie.
Brian scooted his chair forward, offering the mediocre food to Toby. "Go ahead, take it. You need at least something in your system."
Toby reached forward and took the crackers from Brian, taking one from the tube and biting into it. They were stale and tasteless—but the growl in his stomach told him to take what he could get.

Idk what's up with the title, but i couldn't think of anything that could work on the fly.
Anyway, i was up yesterday and felt this wave of angst hit me so i decided to turn it into a Tomco story, and i was gonna keep it angsty till the end, but fluff started pouring out and my petty self could not let the story end at just 300 words.
