Summary
Harley notices several things at once.
First, Spider-Man is alive, thank goodness, and Harley can hear the shallow, pained breaths that escape with each slight movement of the shoulders.
Second, Harley spots the spreading pool of blood underneath him and, well, if he doesn’t do something, Spider-Man’s not going to be alive much longer.
But third, what draws Harley up short, is that the guy’s mask is off, head tilted back against the dingy wall, and holy crap, he is just a kid, a teenage boy, brown curls and some baby fat still on his cheeks. His features are marred by scrapes and blood, but—there’s no way this guy is much older than Harley himself.
Who would’ve guessed?
