Like every evening after school, Papyrus prepared himself to put down his school bag at its place, on the coat rail next to the entrance door. And like every evening, he got ready to cringe because Sans would have put her things on HIS coat rail, that he would have to put away so he could hang his heavy school bag on its usual spot. This was his coat rail, they both decided it long ago. Why was it so hard for Sans to understand it?
But today, Papyrus had the surprise to find his coat rail perfectly empty and ready to be used. His backpack in his hands, Papyrus hesitated, nervous. Why was it empty? It was never empty. Papyrus made it empty. Sans always loved to put useless things that didn't even go on a coat rail just to annoy him. It was their evening routine. But that routine was now broken. It was not normal, and Papyrus hated when things were not normal.
And where is Sans anyways?

Summary
Papyrus was ten years old and had a head full of hopes.
Like every Tuesday, Sans worked at the lab with that weird doctor. And like every Tuesday, Sans was too busy to pick him up from school. This time, his brother also forgot to unlock the door before he left, which meant Papyrus would have to wait for his return to go home. Papyrus didn’t like the doctor. Month after month, he stole his brother a little more.
Who could have predicted that this ordinary afternoon would change his life forever?

Summary
The Great Papyrus considered himself an extremely detailed individual. Indeed, he puts every bit of detail into all that he does with vigor, and notices far more details about those around him than he is frankly given credit for!
If he's hanging out with Undyne and she is having a more difficult time than strictly warranted calling Alphys to talk about the weather, Papyrus notices.
If he happens to cross paths with the dogi for a minute on patrol, and they are having a more stressful work day than normal but grin and bare it anyway, Papyrus notices.
And if something was off about Sans recently, not quite 'off' in the sense that there's something specific Papyrus could call him out on, but 'off' in the weird, vague sense that simply gives his keen intuition the impression something is amiss...

Summary
In a strange turn of events, some interventions from family helped and the mutual awkwardness faded away after they started going out. He and Sans had harbored feelings for each other and when they hit it off; he couldn’t be happier. But the hardest part was being apart from him. Spending every minute of free time they had together was all he could wish for, but when they parted each morning to go to work and attend to their responsibilities, the fiery bartender couldn’t help it and fear that one day, somehow Sans would simply leave him or worse, they’d break up over something utterly stupid and they’d never talk again.
The last thing he wanted was to ruin Christmas for them just because he’s over thinking.
