Hiccup stared at the back of her head and realization dawned. “I know what you’re doing.”
She turned, her expression the familiar mix of stern and loving. “And?”
“And it’s unnecessary. Not to mention, impossible.”
“Unnecessary?” Astrid crossed her arms and stared intently into Hiccup’s eyes. He fought hard to hold her gaze. “When was the last time you had a day off?”
“Easy, it was….uh….the other…”
Astrid raised an eyebrow at him.***
Jack grinned down at the array of spikes protruding from the ocean’s surface like the back of a giant hedgehog.
The moon was still.
“Come on, that deserves some credit! Fifty years ago I could barely frost a window without it breaking.”
The crescent just hung there, placidly unimpressed. Jack glowered back.Hiccup thinks he's found a new species when he discovers a strange ice berg near Berk.

Summary
Jack gets thrown into another world while fighting a new foe with the Guardians, and crash lands onto a wintery island full of dragons. He meets his first dragon, and some of the vikings that live there, but he can't understand a word they're saying. Jack just hopes he can figure out a way home and how to get his powers back, even if it means leaving behind a bunch of people who can see him.
Hiccup just wants one normal day, but when a boy seemingly appears in a storm on Berk with no shoes, Hiccup suddenly has a mystery on his hands. Speaking a different language and wearing strange clothes, Hiccup starts to think the boy is farther from home than he thought. But what island out there has people with ice powers?

Summary
Sirius Black fell through the Veil of Death, had his memories thrown though time, and woke up in a room both completely alien and painfully familiar. After two weeks asleep, he's back with memories of the future and a determination to not let what he knows will happen come to pass, changing one thing at a time.
But his life has never been simple. He has yet to reconcile with his friends after the Whomping Willow incident, his cousins and brother are protecting him with a ferocity he's never seen before, Snape is out for his blood, and he keeps getting hit with new memories out of the blue, leaving him exhausted and aching.
Failure isn't an option, and Sirius has never been one to back down from impossible odds. He'll change the future, and the courses of his friends' lives in the process, or die trying.
