Wilhelm needs to blink multiple times before he’s able to tear his eyes away from the ever angelic creature only a few meters away from him. He immediately feels his cheeks heat up as he meets the unimpressed gaze of his friend Felice, who, after years of knowing him, is pretty used to and not at all surprised by his antics.
“I wasn’t staring,” he defends himself, knowing full well how useless it is for him to do so.
He had, as a matter of fact, been staring again, just like he had been the first time Felice had pointed it out not even ten minutes ago. He knows it, Felice knows it – to be fair, at this point he’s convinced that everyone on campus just knows it.

Summary
There are many words Simon would use to describe Wilhelm. “Arrogant,” “spoiled,” and “a prissy prince” to name a few. Likewise, Wilhelm thinks he has Simon accurately labeled as an attention-seeking asshat who never shuts his loud mouth. Their disdain for each other seems to know no bounds, until the two wake up in one bed after a house party which causes a surge in their friends’ pre-existing notion that Simon and Wilhelm’s hatred for each other is just poorly veiled lust.
Eventually it all becomes too much for either of them to handle, leading to Simon and Wilhelm agreeing to fake date long enough to end their “relationship” in a massive staged fight which will finally get their friends off of their backs once and for all. But the more time they spend together, the more their plan begins to fall apart, and they realize that falling for your enemy isn’t as impossible as it seems.
TLDR: An enemies to lovers & fake dating story, with focuses on Simon’s struggle to keep his family afloat despite his father’s abuse and addiction, and Wille’s trauma and anxiety from childhood to adulthood, heavily based on the book “They Hate Each Other” by Amanda Woody

Season two never happened, and they never got back together after winter break.
Wilhelm and Simon end up going to the same university, have the same group of friends, and are on the same rowing team. If Wille didn’t think life was cruel before, he certainly does now. Especially when Adam, the new team captain, takes a less-than-innocent interest in Simon Eriksson.

This is basically all of season 1 but with one small twist: Wille and Simon have to sit next to each other in class. Wille is still very much a prince, and Simon still hates the monarchy.

„You can say whatever you want, it’s settled, I am not changing my plans.” The prince spoke, walking around the room in a hurried manner, knowing he is supposed to pick Simon up in about 20 minutes. Indeed his timing wasn’t really good, it never was, telling Simon to pack up for three days right after dinner at Forest Ridge, telling him he will pick him up with Malin in about an hour. He heard a faint, quiet sigh from the doorframe before heels clacked against the wooden floor, closer and closer to him.
„I am not trying to talk you out of it. If your father approved, be it. I just want you to be responsible and aware of your actions outside. Just because you are not in the city doesn’t mean there won’t be eyes on you and Simon everywhere you go.” (...)Also, Wilhelm thinks of Simon as his little starlight.
