The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.

This is torture. They are both in LA. They have nowhere to be. And they can't meet. Because both of them are rooming with a Teammate.
A big collab with a luxury fashion brand brought a few select players of three NHL star teams— including Hayden Pike for some reason (his eyes, Ilya thought, it's his eyes. He would never admit it out loud but Pike had pretty eyes.) to LA for a week — big photo shoots in a studio, smaller video shoots on the beach, questionable lifestyle interviews for a nicely disguised product placement in People Magazine. Big names, big money, and this big money booked exactly six hotel rooms for twelve adult men. Ilya was about to commit a felony.

Hayden finds out about Shane and Ilya slightly earlier, in a much more embarrassing way.Pt 2: Shane. What the fuck.

On the other end of the line, Hayden went still for a moment. For long enough that it started to stress Shane out. So, naturally, he started sputtering into the speaker.
"Or do you think I shouldn't? Oh no, did he say something in the locker room I didn't hear? Hayden do you think J.J. could be homophobic?? Like, I don't think he would be but I don't know actually and I'm—"

No reply. Ilya isn’t even typing. Shane can’t possibly handle this.
Please, Ilya, you’re scaring me.
