The gauntlet fits him snugly still, its slightly awkward bulk tucked out of sight inside his cloak, the fingers on his other hand rubbing over and over the Stones set into the knuckles. He supposes he might wear it always now, as a reminder to himself and others of his power, his ascension to godhood—not, he insists to himself, because he senses the deadened flesh and muscle that lies beneath it, felt the nerves in his fingers blow like fuses before he’d even fully snapped them; because he knows that if he were to remove it, there’d be nothing but a blackened husk where his hand used to be, one of two taken, as if he’d paid his own small tithe to Infinity.
“What have you done?”
Or: His heart set on winning the affections of the elusive Master of Death, Tom gathers the Infiinty Stones and eliminates half the life in the universe.

He slipped in through an open window, unannounced, pounced when Dmitri stepped out of the shower, taking advantage of this familiar vulnerability, like a dark mockery of easier times, when he enjoyed jumping his brother in the bathroom to surprise him for his birthday, pulling him into a rough hug, a playful tussle between lion cubs.
But it’s not Dmitri’s birthday now, and there is nothing playful about the way Sergei has him pinned to the carpet, one hand around his throat, the other holding Dmitri’s wrists trapped above his head.

Summary
Before his first battle, Loki cast a spell to ensure that, if he died, he would be brought back to life in a safe place in the body he had at the time of casting. He didn’t find a way to keep his memories intact, so after he survived the battle he discarded the plan as a childish impulse. If he thought about the spell at all over the next several centuries, he assumed that it had never worked, or had lost its power.
Then a young Loki woke up on—was this really Midgard?
