Summary
Ghost enters to find the bull already in position, on his elbows and knees, feet spread and shoulders braced for prolonged stillness. He lets out a short, quiet, pleased sound, enough to get the bull’s head tilting towards him, a little bluster of greeting he’s grown used to with this particular animal.
He does a slow circle of the room, inspecting his set out equipment, the restraints, and the positions of the pads beneath the bull’s shins and forearms, as well as the thick black leather collar around his neck. He gives it a quick tug, making sure it’s not too tight, and gets another soft huff in answer.
He tugs on the collar again, checks the nametag hanging in a silver oval from the center. On the back is the farmer’s name, the bull’s farm of origin, and his age and breed. The other side just has the word “Soap” in big letters.

So when he and Ghost get to that point where things may go further than he's ever been before, he approaches it "scientifically". Taking in observations, making assumptions and doing research. He gathers the following:

Summary
Simon Ghost Riley can’t be touched. He thinks, sometimes, that if someone ever touches his bare skin, he might shatter into a thousand shards of glass, the same way that if someone ever says a kind word to him beyond "job well done, Ghost", he might break in such a way that he’ll never, ever be able to put himself back together again. He thinks, regularly, that he might be very, very fucked up.
Until Soap comes along. Soap, who has never been scared of him. Soap, who took one look at Ghost and his bulk and his defences and decided not to take them as the warning they are. Soap, who treats him like he’s normal. Soap, who came out of that fucking tunnel with a new scar on his temple and some chest candy to go with it, cocksure and confident, sharper and snarkier than ever.
Can Ghost find the intimacy he so desperately craves and learn to love again? Will Soap help him unlock a part of himself he thought was dead forever?
Spoiler alert: the answer is "yes".

Ghost's always listening silently, observing his surroundings and gathering information. Doesn’t speak up much, unless he has a reason to. Luckily for Soap, responding to him is usually reason enough for him so he might just get a chance to satiate his piqued curiosity.

Ghost rolls his eyes, exaggerated enough for Soap to see it despite the mask. He laughs in response and Ghost pretends that he hates it – but it’s plain obvious that he doesn’t. If he truly were fed up with Soap’s antics, he’d make it known loud and clear. However, it seems quite the opposite. Ghost indulges him.
