Summary
As the fifth soulrider, you were granted the legendary honor of carrying the destiny of the world on your shoulders. You should be excited by this right? What if you never wanted it in the first place? And what if the legendary 5th soulrider is not a girl- like the druid phophecies foretold- but a trans man?
It was a cold and stormy night as you seeked shelter in the mountains. "Just a little longer buddy" you tried to reassure your tired horse. Suddenly the silouette of a building became apparent through the pouring rain and without thinking any longer you navigated your trusty companion to what seemed to be an old observatory. Dismounting and banging on the door you hoped that whoever inhabited the place was kind enough to let you stay for the night. As you already started to give up, the door slowly creaked, revealing a slender blonde man with ruffled hair. "Can i help you..?" he asked shyly.
Who would have thought that that man would not only change- but turn your entire life upside down, as you tried to fit in with the keepers of Aideen, fight dark forces and fulfill a prophecy you didn't sign up for. Sometimes it takes a special someone to make you feel like it's okay to just be yourself.

Neil Perry was six years old the first time he felt the sting of his father’s cruel words seep like poison into his skin. In a local supermarket in the small town of Wilmington, Vermont that the Perrys called home, the neatly stacked apples on the quaint wooden display were fresh and crisp.
“Rose, what are you doing still holding his hand in public like that? He’s in the first grade now, he ought to start to become more independent. Boys don’t hold their mother’s hands at this age,” he sneered.☆☽☆
Todd Anderson knew all about shame. If there was one feeling that always returned to him like home, year after year as he got older, it was shame. Shame for feeling different. Shame for hardly being able to get a sentence out without stuttering. Shame for being inferior, inferior to Jeffrey.
A mostly canon-compliant DPS story, following the major events of the movie, but focusing more on the inner thoughts of characters (mostly Neil and Todd). Focuses on Neil and Todd's relationship, Todd's issues with anxiety, Neil's issues with depression and not being able to follow his own path.
