Summary
Tobirama was born into war, though his elder brother has shielded him from it. At four, Tobirama had started to learn the shinobi arts. At five, his father died, and Hashirama took over his training and care. At seven, the Senju Clan withdrew into their compound and Tobirama had only been sent on missions that kept him far away from Uchiha territory until peace was negotiated in the summer after his 18th birthday. It took one year for Konoha to grow roots strong enough to support the entirety of the Senju and the Uchiha and another two for them to settle beneath her branches.
Now, at twenty-two, Tobirama sits as the head of state of the first shinobi village. The Hokage is a figure respected by warrior, vendor, merchant, and laborer. By shinobi and civilian. By all except Uchiha Madara.
The way Madara handles Tobirama distinctly feels like disrespect.
The progression of Madara and Tobirama's relationship over the course of years, told though multiple perspectives and via various sexual encounters.

“I've arranged for you to marry the eldest Uchiha son, though marriage might even be too much for his feeble mind to comprehend.” Butsuma spoke as if he had not sealed the fate of the rest of Tobirama's life, “A caretaker at most, at least you may be of use to me one last time.”
Tobirama only remembered to nod because his father was easily angered when he does not respond. Married. To the Uchiha son. The eldest one who had been taken out of the line of succession for being mentally disabled. He knew he was dispensable to his father but to be thrown away so easily to a life of servitude, his chest ached.

“We will have peace, and by tying Izuna's greatest rival to you, Madara, perhaps the peace will last after all.” Tajima spoke with his eldest son, his actual heir though that knowledge was only known to a select few.
“I understand, Otou-san. You'll have to be the one to tell Izuna though, I doubt he'd be happy that I'm marrying his rival.” Madara frowned, already imagining the full blown tantrum his younger brother would probably throw at having to bring his rival into their family as his elder brother-in-law.

Summary
Following the death of his brothers Tobirama spirals dangerously into apathy.
Kill. Obey. These orders have haunted him since childhood. He has been a dutiful son. An obedient shinobi. But there have been parts of himself he has kept hidden from everyone else. The freedom he felt when he realized he could walk upon clouds. The pointlessness and smallness of it all when viewed from high above. The lack of distinction he feels in the pain of those who are called Senju and those Butsuma has deemed enemies.
His brothers were his tethers, the only ones he cared for, and they are gone. Dead. He had failed them. After Tobirama is responsible for the broken bonds of friendship between Hashirama and that Uchiha, Hashirama won't even look at him. So what is there to hold onto? What is there to keep him fighting? Kill. Obey. He would rather stop calling himself Senju.
