Summary
Post-military life as a single father in the city was demanding on a good day. When Eddie realised that his was no longer sustainable, he decided to switch gears completely. Had he ever imagined Christopher and himself in a place like Crescent Falls? Absolutely not. Yet, rediscovering his skills from long before the army, working as a ranch hand for someone called Bobby and meeting a guy named Buck... All of it sent him on a journey, that would end up rattling every aspect of his life.
OR the one in which Eddie (closed off, repressed and zeroed in), gives up city life for a ranch in the middle of nowhere to provide for his son and finds way more than he was looking for.

Summary
When Buck is out spending an evening with an old acquaintance he certainly doesn't expect to end up at some kind of underground location. All he wanted was some distraction from the fact that he can't see his family, hasn't heard from them in too long. Also: Gosh, he's too old for this. And with the lawsuit going on he really shouldn't be picked up anywhere near something that even he considers legally doubtful at best.
Before he can turn to leave though Buck recognizes a groan coming from behind an audience in the middle of the room. When he moves to disperse his suspicions, he can't believe what he finds. -

Birthdays are this weird thing, aren’t they? People like to be surrounded by those they love but then again, maybe that’s not always a possibility. And then maybe there are good reasons for it. And if Miles is slipping into his bed alone because somebody else is lost somewhere on the other side of the world, playing a world tour, then he’s perfectly fine with it.

A few days after the world cup final Luka is back in Madrid. It's hard to overcome the disappointment and all the guilt that comes with feeling like you could've and should've done more to lead your team to a win.
It's a good thing to have a friend around who knows exactly what you're going through.Or: Cris has Luka come over to 'comfort' him after the loss.
Purely written because the author hated the result of this final and needed a way to cope with it all.
