Shouta had noticed Shinsou's odd behavior during training, but if he outright asked what was bothering the kid he would for sure brush him off, and he highly doubts that Shinsou would be discussing any major problems any time soon, considering he’d barely heard him utter more than a handful of joking complaints in the months they’d been training. Concerned, he and Hizashi decide to dig a little deeper, opening up their home to teen in the process.

Hitoshi was having a crisis. He’d scoured online forums and websites looking for clarification, but he was stuck in a constant loop of stressing about his identity and packing it away for later and he was getting tired of it. He wanted to know, to be sure of himself, to feel comfortable, and deep down, he wanted somebody to understand. He had thought the hardest thing he'd have to do at UA would be to transfer into the hero course. He hadn't expected all the things his first year would bring.

Shinso's acceptance to the General Studies department at UA is a chance to reinvent himself, for better or for worse. After accidentally outing himself to his foster family, he is placed in the home of Aizawa Shouta, one of UA's teachers. Between his new school and his new guardian, life is changing fast for Hitoshi. Some of it is pretty cool, but it makes him really tired. And why won't Aizawa admit that he has a secret girlfriend? ...at least there's a cat.

Summary
Aizawa Shouta was an underground hero, and a teacher trained to see all the signs of abuse. And from the moment he started training Shinsou Hitoshi, he had his suspicions.
He noticed the beat up clothing, the odd unexplained bruise here and there, the flinches at sudden movements, how the kid lit up at every little praise or kind word.
His student gave no indication anything was wrong at home, was quick to brush off any questions. A practiced liar, with a practiced nonchalant air.
It was frustrating, but Shouta knew there was nothing he could do until the kid admitted the truth to him, no matter what he suspected.
So the underground hero watched, and he waited. For the day his kid felt comfortable enough to come to him, or for a sign big enough that the school could investigate.
And a few months into training, it all came to a head.

Aizawa takes Hitoshi in with his emergency foster parent license. Hitoshi doesn't know how normal family dynamics work, but he's about to find out. Cue lots of hurt/comfort and family fluff.
