Summary
Aubrey Thyme, from where she stood unbreathing across the room, allowed herself for a moment to forget how much Aziraphale was to Crowley, and thought very fleetingly that this would be it; the moment where, even as exhausted as he was, Crowley's walls came back up, and he frowned and got angry and defensive, and slammed the key in the lock of his heart, twisting it so hard that it broke. But, of course, Aubrey Thyme knew, even if with someone like Crowley it was easy to forget — Aziraphale was everything to the demon, and Crowley, even if they 'didn't use that word', loved him.
And Aubrey Thyme had realized since the beginning that the way past Crowley's sunglasses was through his angel. That had never changed; not once.
