The creature screeched so shrill and loud, it made Phainon jolt.
Underneath a pile of struggling human bodies was a half-human, half-fish creature pressed to the cold, harsh cement floors. A tail of the most beautiful iridescent seafoam green, with long hair pooling by the sides of a lithe torso. Webbed claws dug into the cement, each limb held down by a colleague desperate to prevent the creature from making another attack.

Summary
Caelus works at a café near campus and has an awkward, slightly embarrassing run-in with a customer that leaves him way more bothered than he wants to admit, mostly because the guy reacts in a calm, unreadable way that throws him off completely.
Later, when he moves into the Astral Express dorm house under Stellar Academy, he finds out that same customer has been assigned as his roommate. What starts as a random bad café interaction suddenly turns into something a lot harder to avoid, kicking off a very uncomfortable living situation.

Mydei’s steps didn’t falter as they made their way to campus, but he did turn to look at Phainon with raised brows. “I’ve heard of them but I’m surprised you have heard of them.”
Phainon’s brows burrowed together as he adjusted his bag’s strap. “What do you mean?”
”You can ask Stelle more about it, but The Cornerstones is a very fancy, elusive sex club that’s by invite only. How did you even hear about it?”
Warmth immediately crept up Phainon’s neck as the words sunk in. He came to a screeching stop as he turned to look at Mydei with wide eyes. “S- Sex club?!”
