    It's been two weeks and Toby hasn't lost a word about finding a glowing amulet in the canal. So Jim decides to investigate.

    It is not Nomura that is sucked into Killahead Bridge and ends up stranded in the Dark Lands. It is Strickler.

    Eventually, Jim Lake ventures to the Dark lands to rescue Enrique, but ends up being captured himself and is thrown into a cell with a chained-up changeling.

    But the changeling doesn't seem to be acting like the Walter Strickler Jim knows. There doesn't seem to be a trace left of the well-spoken History teacher Jim knows. Instead, there is a troll starving for flesh.

    Can Strickler even be reached, or is it just too late?
