Summary
Three weeks after his ‘defrosting,’ Steve Rogers is lost and depressed, wandering the street of New York, haunted by his memories. Things only get more painful for him when he sees Bucky walking up the street. Except. It’s not Bucky.
Instead he meets TJ Hammond, son of a former President and the current Secretary of State, a man troubled by past mistakes, current addictions, and his family’s political ambitions.
Together they tackle their own demons and try to make their lives a little better, all the while forming a friendship that will heal them both. And maybe become a little something more.

Bucky had already pretty much secured his place on the college swim team of his choice with his win yesterday in the 100 meter Breaststroke and the day before that in the 200 meter Breaststroke. If Steve wanted to be there with Bucky, then he had to win his own race, the 100 meter Freestyle. He had to be the best, had to be the fastest here at the state level championship meet. Unfortunately, there were seven others who wanted that title, too.

Olruggio never made a big deal about the money his specialized commissions got him. They got what they needed, and some extra at that. To the others, however, it is quite a revelation.

What should one do or feel when he discovers that his old friend has been erasing his mind, over and over again, for almost as long as they've known each other?
Most people would react with anger or distress. Perhaps they'd consider it a betrayal. But Olruggio isn't most people. Nor is this a situation anyone else would ever find themselves in.

A clap of thunder sounds outside, illuminating the bridge with a burst of light, and Olruggio stops. His eyes flash to the window, as if he’s only just noticed the storm, and he goes very still. Then he rounds on them and demands, “How long has it been raining?”
It's storming outside, and Qifrey hasn't come home.
