Summary
The first cracks in Bruce Wayne’s mind begin to spider outwards with the death of Barbara Gordon (well, that’s not strictly true. We all know that the first weakening of the foundation that is Gotham’s sweetheart’s psyche was the murder of his parents, followed by the murder of Jason Todd, followed by a helluva lotta fear toxin - but now we’re delving into recent history.)
Admittedly, there has been strain on his mental health all night, starting with the aforementioned fear toxin, and the appearance of an enemy he’d tried so desperately not to think of for so long. It’s been getting worse as the night goes on. What started as the occasional comment has developed into a full running commentary, and Bruce is no longer capable of droning out the din. -

Then it dawns on him. Bruce feels... better. Not by much but it is a noticeable difference. His skin doesn’t feel as clammy and his breathing isn’t as labored. Hell, even his body aches less. It’s slight but distinct.
The Joker sees the confusion in Bruce’s eyes and beams. “See!? All through the power of looooooouuuuvvvveeee... or you know, an awesome blow job.”

But as the Jokers bat obsession worsens, the detective finds himself an unwilling playmate in a new, twisted game.
All he wanted to do was save Gotham, it wasn`t asking for much.
These goddamn lunatics were going to be the end of him.

When the status-quo between Batman and the Joker that kept everything in place had been shattered. A new threat that would forever change the games between them. A need to adapt and rectify everything was in order. Joker had almost lost his playmate for good. He wasn't about to let that happen again. Batman just wants to prevent what seems to be the inevitable, not that the Joker would ever make that easy for him.

Steve Rogers does not like Bruce Wayne, in fact he despises him with a passion from the moment they meet and wants him as far away from Howards boy as possible.
Bruce does not like most of the Avengers, especially not Steve Rogers who he knows has got a thing for Tony and he wants Tony away from these people, however he doesn't want to loose Tony who has his heart set on being an avenger so for now he will take them on sufferance, for now anyway, but God help them if they dare hurt his Tony in anyway at all.
Eventually the Avengers true colours show and Tony is left reeling and as always blaming himself, Bruce wants to beat the crap out of all of them but he has a problem of his own to contend with, Superman, and despite Metropolis being the city Superman destroyed Lex Luthor AKA Dragonfly isn't lending him a hand in destroying this threat, and Tony doesn't think it's a good idea either.
Thankfully Lex and Tony are much smarter than Clark and Bruce (Sometimes) and manage to keep them from killing each other and revealing the real villain of the peace, Lex's not so dead as supposed Father Lionel Luthor.
New Chapter Three added, back to normal updates after this.

“I'm going to regret this,” Henry says out loud to nobody in particular, and Ben answers with a low laugh, a chuckle next to his ear that sounds less like reassurance and more like a wordless affirmation of the inevitable.
“Well, if you do, you have nobody but yourself to blame,” Ben points out with a playful wink, which is entirely untrue because the only person to blame for suggesting and actually convincing him to go through with gentle, safe-for-work, non-intrusive and easy-for-beginners bondage is, of course, Ben himself. Henry hasn't had any part in planning this, and if anybody suggests otherwise, he’ll deny it completely.
