Summary
After a close call on a rescue, Buck realizes there are too many things he's been putting off for someday.
So he makes a list.
Some items are easy:
Learn more of Bobby's recipes.
Take Theo camping.
Learn to surf.
See the Northern Lights.
Some are harder:
Go to therapy.
Tell people he loves them.
Figure out what Eddie means to him.One checked box at a time, Buck begins rebuilding a life shaped by grief, healing, family, and the terrifying realization that the thing he's been looking for might have been standing beside him all along.
Or:
Buck makes a bucket list, Theo adopts it as a personal project, the 118 become emotionally invested against their will, and Eddie Diaz ends up being both the problem and the solution.

Summary
Eddie's hand was on him, finger pointing at his face. Bobby's hands in the air. Two people. Too close. Too loud. Hands everywhere.
Buck's vision tunnelled to a pinpoint. His body registered threats from multiple directions—Eddie in front, Bobby beside him, both of them with their hands raised, both of them angry, both of them *too close*.
The room tilted. Sound became muffled, distant. His father's voice overlapped with Bobby's. Connor's hands overlapped with Eddie's. Past and present collapsed into each other until Buck couldn't tell which was real.
*Hands coming up. Voices raised. Nowhere to run. Surrounded. Trapped. It's happening again. It's always happening again.*
But Buck's brain didn't see Eddie and Bobby.
Buck's brain saw violence coming from everywhere.Bookmarked by Jcrow08

Summary
The day Buck receives the settlement offer, he is ready to reject it to win back his job and his family at Station 118. But when Christopher is rushed to the hospital needing a critical, very expensive spinal surgery on the other side of the country that insurance won't cover, Buck breaks his legal no-contact order and races to Eddie's side.
To save Christopher's mobility, Buck makes the ultimate sacrifice: he accepts the payout. He willingly plays the villain, letting Bobby, Maddie, and the crew believe he chose greed over loyalty, and exiles himself to Florida to help Christopher heal in secret. Back in LA, Eddie must silently endure a resentful firehouse, anchored by a devastating truth: "If the choice is between you and Christopher, you will lose every time."
