I thought that I could just be human again. I thought… that if I came back, I’d finally have everything I ever wanted.”

    “Well?” his mother questions, drawing his gaze back over to her. “Do you?”

    “I… I should,” Sora sighs, frustrated with his Kingdom, with himself most of all. “I mean, Xehanort’s gone, the worlds are safe, my friends are safe and I can finally be with them. I should be happy.” He can’t fight back fresh tears as he looks to his mother, utterly distraught. “So why aren’t I?”

    Canon is more of a polite suggestion than a law around here. Some scenes are exactly as you remember them. Others... absolutely are not. People make different choices. People bleed more. The adults are forced to confront things they missed. Harry has significantly more problems than anyone signed up for.

    Nobody is leaving until the last page.
