Summary
This is just a short scene from Dean's point of view immediately after the events of chapter 20 of Harry Potter and the Siren's Lament. It didn't flow with the rest of the story, so I'm leaving it as a small bonus outside of the main work. It will make zero sense unless you've read to chapter 20 of the main story, and includes major spoilers, so I don't recommend reading it out of order.

“Selkies steal your heart. Merrow drown your children. Sirens sink ships,” Ron whispered, eyes downcast now. “Everyone knows that. There’s a reason wizards aren’t big into going swimming and sailing.”
Harry sank, wide-eyed, to the bottom of the tank, a massive lump in his throat. Hermione nudged Ron with her foot, tipping her head towards Harry reprovingly. Ron dragged his eyes up again and grimaced.
“Not that… not that I think you’d do those things,” Ron said awkwardly, glancing at Hermione and then shuddering. “But… you could.”
Harry shook his head, curling his nauseatingly flexible tail against the smooth walls of the tank. He hadn't meant to imperio Hermione - he'd never!
Except, he had, hadn't he?

Summary
At the end of Harry's fourth year, the secret he'd been hiding was revealed: Harry is a werewolf, turned by Remus Lupin. Dumbledore managed to use Harry's fame to grant him permission to continue attending Hogwarts, but lycanthropy is a perfect excuse for the Ministry to dismiss his claims about Voldemort's return. Now hated both for his testimony and for his lycanthropy, Harry returns to Hogwarts more a pariah than ever.
Harry is used to his years at school being "adventurous," but this year may just turn into a fight for survival.

Summary
What was the point of being a disgrace, Mabel thought, if she wasn’t allowed to do that properly?
Mabel Estes is the illegitimate halfblooded daughter of a minor pureblood Lord, and she's fine. She just needs a way to disappear over the summer, that's all. Unfortunately, she can't join her best friend Clementine Lasik in the muggle foster care system, so she needs something a little more magical.
The animagus transformation seems like the perfect answer to Mabel's problems, but Clem's worst fears come true when the process goes horribly wrong. Now trapped in his animal form, Clem has to learn how to cope while Mabel confronts her guilt. They need each other more than ever, but Mabel is holding on to her secrets and Clem is struggling not to lose himself to despair. Can they learn to lean on each other, or will their troubles prove too much?

“Isn’t it, though?” Keith lifts his head to give Allura a look that Hunk would describe as a kicked puppy. “I’m the reason they’re distrustful. It’s hurting the safety of the team.”
OR: After another planet makes an issue of Keith's heritage, Allura reminds Keith of his importance to the team.

He’s smiling at Yuu. A hand outstretched, like he wants to do a handshake. Who does that? Loser.
“I'm Mika, what’s your name?”
“Yuichiro. Why do you want to know?”
The boy tilts his head, confused.
“We’re family now.”
“Family?" Yuu scoffs. "Yeah, sure.”
No such thing as family.

“You can’t seriously be considering what I think you’re considering.” Shinoa says, the smile slipping off her lips.
Yuu runs a resigned hand over his face.
“It’s not… We don’t have a plan for when it’s happening.” He meets her gaze, brows furrowed with determination. “But it is happening, eventually.”
It dawns on Shinoa, like a punch to the gut. He doesn’t have to worry about his health, because he doesn’t plan on staying human for long.
OR: Mika agrees to turn Yuu into a vampire, someday. Life decides to speed up their plans.

It’s so quick, it makes no sense.
There’s this awful noise when Mika lands on the sand. The thud. The air being punched out of his lungs. Something shattering. A tile? No, not a tile. It sounds like when you drop a watermelon. Crunchy, wet.
Around the blonde head, the sand starts turning red. Why isn’t Mika moving? Why can't Yuu move?
OR: Mika cracks his head open, but he'll heal. Yuu has a hard time anyway.

Yeah if Mika wasn't a vampire he would have been dead on impact. VERY graphic on his injuries, and while he does recover fully it's not an instantaneous process to heal a shattered skull and extensive brain damage.
