Ymir breathed heavily, mortified as if she had just committed quite the grave sin: she was already regretting it, in fact, and would have taken back those words, a joke and nothing more, the words of a child with no real meaning, but then Eleonore surprised her, slipping one arm under her body and another behind her back.
And she lifted her up. High, as if she weighed nothing, as if Ymir were nothing more than a doll to her. “I'm a knight! Whoo-hoo!" rejoiced the peasant girl, before throwing Ymir into the air. And the girl screamed, of course, horrified, terrified beyond measure, but when she fell, she fell right into Eleonore's strong working arms. She blinked in disbelief, but Eleonore just smiled at her, tenderly. “And yer my princess, aight?”
Despite it all, her heart still pounding in her chest and ears, her knees shaking, this strange feeling in the back of her head, Ymir found herself smiling back. She felt so light in the commoner girl's arms. “I...am your princess...” she muttered, initially unconvinced, but she liked how it sounded coming from Eleonore’s mouth, so she tried it again. “And...you're my knight...yes...”

A revamp/rewrite of my story "Island of Devils" and a sequel to my previous work "A Father's Machinations". Also a sequel (semi-midquel) to "When Liberio Came to Paradis" and part of the "Paradis Rises" series.
The Warriors mission has failed. Paradis now has eight of the nine Titans, the entire Eldian population of Liberio, and now a whole crew of Marleyan captives. They are thriving, and most of the world hails them as the ones who stopped Marleyan expansion and adhered to their promise to dissolve the Power of the Titans in exchange for freedom for Eldians. However, Marley is refusing any true peace, despite their ravaging by other countries following their loss of power, and many others out there still desire to see the island razed. Some of which are on the island itself.
However, even amidst all this, friendships and deeper bonds form in places they would least expect. Families connect and enemies become lovers.

Devastated, and with no one to return to in Marley, Annie's loyalty to the cause is compromised. As three years pass in training, Annie's doubts continue to grow as she gets to know the supposed "demons." It all culminates after Marco's murder, and the guilt simply becomes too much for her to bear.
When the time comes to choose her regiment, Annie joins the Survey Corps, and betrays Reiner and Bertholdt.
