Joshua had a good life. He reminded himself of that often, especially during the long hours hunched over his desk with a textbook open, three different colored pens laid out beside his notebook, and the weight of two pairs of eyes lingering somewhere just beyond the door.
He had a family. A real one. One that had fought to bring him home from that miserable orphanage—God, that place. Cold beds. Colder food. Walls that echoed with the sounds of children too young to be that quiet. He remembered sitting by the cracked window, watching the sky and wondering if it could ever get better.
Then Jeonghan and Seungcheol appeared, like something out of a dream that was almost too good to believe.
But love, real consuming love was never soft all the time.
