Summary
We never actually see the first time Merlin meets Morgana in the show, even though we witness his first meetings with all the other major characters. That always annoyed me, so I decided to write my own version of their first encounter.
And since I’ve always loved stories that come full circle — and especially ones that lean into tragedy — I wrote both their first and last moments together. But in this version, Merlin and Morgana are in love: two people destined to fight, and doomed to love.
The lines “Forgive me” and “Next time you knock me over, try to catch me before I hit the ground” came to me unexpectedly — and yet they fit so perfectly in both scenes, as if they were meant to be there all along.
I hope you enjoy this fic as much as I loved writing it.

Morgana released a humorless laugh. “Merlin, I can barely control my dreams. I haven’t the faintest idea how to curse a castle.”

"I see why they call you Myrddin Wyllt," A smooth voice said, and he rolled his golden eyes, "You truly have lost it."
"Oh, not you as well, Gana," He grumbled, not looking towards the source of the voice, "It's bad enough with everyone else in my head, but you as well? Please."
"I'm not a hallucination, silly."
Merlin frowned, and turned sharply to face her. Huh. It was true. Morgana was dressed in black rags, her hair a mess. He grinned and jumped to his feet.
"That's what they all say. What, you've come over here to kill me? I'm sorry for poisoning you, okay? It was a once off. Won't happen again."
OR
Merlin and Aithusa were imprisoned by the Sarrum for five years. After going insane with hunger, loneliness, and pain, he finally manages to escape, with only a smidge of sanity left intact.
However, that last bit snaps when he hears King Arthur is planning an alliance with the Sarrum.

That does seem like the kind of thing to break him, doesn’t it?

Merlin's bitterness towards Arthur for Freya's death is only increasing day by day, when a letter arrives from a dragonlord, claiming to be his father. Desperate for a break from destiny, Merlin leaves Camelot. He returns over a year later, but things are not the same. He has people-- and dragons-- to look after. And there comes a problem when Morgana starts behaving strangely, her glares towards Arthur a little too angry to be normal...

“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

And then he stuck out his hand, oblivious to the way Arthur‘s mouth dropped openOr, during the Great Purge, Balinor can convince Uther not to kill all dragons. Instead, Uther magically imprisons him and the remaining dragons at the Dragon's Keep. Now, almost twenty years later, prince Arthur regualary comes to check on him. Things change, when he brings a certain manservant with him.

The question made Merlin's heart pound, harder. It made an ugly laugh sit in his throat and even uglier truths try and claw their way up around it. "Something like that." Summary

He is found by Apollo and is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a place where he can finally be safe. This small change leaves a big impact on the hero's journey. But this isn't the only divergence from Fate. Percy Jackson's soul is the very soul of Hyacinthus, the Grecian prince who was murdered millennia ago. Percy must come to terms with his past life while juggling a world in turmoil over an incoming divine war.
Apollo is struggling with the fact that his past lover has suddenly reincarnated into a small demigod child who looks just like his Uncle Poseidon. Among the trials and tribulations this child is put through, he realizes that he will do whatever it takes to make sure he lives a long life this time, even if that means breaking some rules and fighting some gods.

Percy was four years old the first time his dreams led him to his many-great-grandmother’s chambers- a woman long dead yet somehow still seated in front of him, fingers grasping at her hair tightly as she wails about a wooden horse on the beach while her servants look on in pity. He feels the weight of something ancient and heavy settle on his shoulders in that moment.
He was in his 1st grade classroom when his teacher screamed at him for making up lies about gods and monsters and scaring the other children. He was eight when his mother's own visions become too much for her to bear.
He's at Yancy when Grover Underwood finally finds him and says "I believe you" for the first time. And as Percy begins to feel lighter, that ancient weight that has followed him his whole life slowly dissipating, he realizes that being believed can be just as horrifying as being thought mad.
