He remembered the night on Coruscant before Utapau: the sharp exchange in the Temple, Obi-Wan’s restraint, his own bitterness. He remembered seeing such coldness in his Master’s presence. In his words. Later, much later, after everything had burned and broken and remade itself in ways neither of them could have imagined, he had learned how many times Obi-Wan had returned for him, chosen him, held out a hand when any sensible man would have let him fall.
The soft hiss of the door behind him broke the silence.
Anakin looked up too late to compose himself.
Obi-Wan stood in the threshold, one hand still on the control panel, his expression shifting quickly from mild curiosity to concern.The city light behind him gave his outline a pale halo, but there was nothing ethereal in the way he crossed the room—just immediate, grounded attention, the same instinctive movement toward Anakin that had defined half his life.

Summary
Darth Vader, the strong arm of the Sith, held loyal to his Order since they took he and his mother from slavery in the deserts of Tatooine. Until he became convinced they killed his wife. He abandoned his Order and disappeared in the chaos of the Clone Wars, presumed dead by all sides.
That young Skywalker is known around town as a widower and homesteader; a Nabooian who emigrated to avoid the trade blockade; a father of overly-energetic twins and warding a Togruta war orphan; a decent mechanic if your farm equipment or maintenance droid is acting up.
Anakin is a paranoid, over-protective hot mess doing his best to raise his weird pack the way Padmé would have wanted. How the hell is he supposed to do that when his kids and not-apprentice make him haul a half-dead Jedi Master home like a lost pet?

Summary
Anakin goes on a date he expected to be awkward, transactional, and over the moment the credits are mentioned.
Instead, he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi— a man who is unexpectedly attentive, disarmingly gentle, and far too good at making Anakin forget what he's supposed to be. What starts as a delicately negotiated arrangement quickly turns into something neither of them handles cleanly.
And Anakin is no longer sure where the boundaries of the arrangement are, or whether he ever really wanted them in the first place.
