"Yeah?" Hitoshi shakily says because he's so out of his depths here and he thinks he fucked up when Yamada steps in and a frown settles on his face.
"Did you just—sit there?" he asks and Hitoshi's stomach sinks because of course.
Of course there was something he was supposed to do, some kind of test they gave him and he clearly failed that one already.
His heart starts to beat heavily in his chest and his hands get clammy.
This is always the worst part—figuring out the rules in a new home, figuring out what he's supposed to do, what he's allowed to do, what his new fosters want from him.
Hitoshi has always been exceptionally bad at it.

Hitoshi doesn't know what to think when he steps into the gym and finds Aizawa standing next to one big backpack.
It certainly doesn't look like their regular training and that immediately puts Hitoshi on edge.
"What are we doing?" Hitoshi carefully asks and Aizawa gives him his most feral grin, and Hitoshi breaks out into a cold sweat.
This cannot be good.
"You are doing something," he gives back and kicks the backpack. "Remember that essay I made you write about what you would need if you were ever dropped in the woods for a few days?"
"Oh gods," Hitoshi groans out because that's his nightmare actually and Aizawa's grin only gets wider.

Sure, she’s been more tired, and sure, she’s having more moments each day where her heart feels too fast, too hot, but she’s fine.
When she opens her mouth, the reply that comes out surprises her, small and insistent. “I don’t want to go.”

Grief is a funny thing. She didn't know Himiko Toga, not really– up until both wars, she only thought of the other girl as a villain. A cute girl, with eyes that made her heart pound and a smile that made her think things she definitely shouldn't, but a villain nonetheless. She thought she enjoyed hurting people and it scared her.
But now she knows better. And it's not like she can do anything about it now, cause Himiko is in the ground somewhere. In an unmarked grave, the only remnants of her still in this world are in Ochako's own blood stream.
She lets out a little aborted sob, slamming her hand over her mouth. The sun is warm on her skin, the air cool, and all she can think about is it's not fair. It's not fair at all.

Aizawa had insisted that he escort him home, even though Shinsou would have been perfectly fine on his own. Something about dark alleys, villains, and a not-so-nice part of the city. And so there they were, a whirlwind of city lights flashing through the pitch night sky, a loud, yet quiet hum of a train. This is the perfect place, he thinks, to tell Aizawa anything.

Running into a student outside of school was not part of Aizawa's plan for the night. Nor was getting involved in a villain attack with said student. And getting lectured at the police station for “involving a minor” in the crime was the last thing he had wanted to do this evening.
Add on to the fact that Uraraka, the aforementioned minor, has been struggling in training recently and he wanted to ask about it.
The cherry on top of this shitstorm of a night was that he was hungry. He was hungry and Uraraka was still making a face at the thought of letting him buy her dinner.
