  1. Summary

This is all set in the Winners Take It All universe, where we see Riddle and Floyd's life progress from all sorts of POV's.

These will mostly be one-shots and missing moments that aren't in the main fic.

All the fics under the main one will be sorted in chronological order.

And if it's referenced in a main chapter, in the end notes I'll add a link to the fic it's mentioning. And vice versa, I'll link/tell you which chapter of the main fic the fic is referencing!

    Summary

“What I find absolutely fascinating,” Riddle said, stalking closer, “is you.” He marched forward, backing Harry up until he was pinned to the cool wall of the common room. “Do you know why?”

“No. And I’ll be honest here, Riddle, I don’t particularly care.”

The taller boy grinned at him, small yet infinitely pleased. “That. Right there.” One hand rose and brushed some of Harry’s fringe from his face. “Nathan Ciro was a spineless little boy too afraid of his own shadow to dare even glance in my direction. But you…”

He leaned closer, “You look at me like you want to stab me.”

After an accident, Auror Harry Potter wakes up in the body of fourteen year old Nathan Ciro, a tormented Slytherin who recently tried to end his own life. Seeking answers to his strange predicament, Harry returns to Hogwarts, and causes quite the stir through staff and students - especially when they come to realise he is not the same boy as before.

He tries to avoid suspicion, but as his quest for the truth draws more and more attention to him, Harry begins to think that he might not like what he will discover.

“I guess it doesn’t really matter anymore,” Harry said eventually, shoulders bowing with the weight of his sudden exhaustion. “It’s not something you have to worry about again.”

“What – what do you mean?”

I’m pretty sure your brother is dead, Harry thought.

“I’m going to ask your parents to take me out of Hogwarts,” he said. “It’s – this place isn’t for me. I don’t belong here anymore. You should be happy. We both get what we want this way.”

Simon’s shock was palpable. He did not seem to know how to respond beyond the involuntary, “You don’t know what I want.”

Harry laughed without any humour. “You want me gone,” he said, spreading his hands and letting his mouth curl with a shade of cruelty. “Well, congratulations, Simon. You get your wish. You get to be what you’ve wanted for a while now – brotherless.”

Simon flinched back at the word, but Harry no longer cared. As far as he was concerned, Simon had no right to sympathy – not when his own actions had started this whole mess in the first place.

“You. You can’t just,” Simon gripped his hair with one hand, mind racing to understand the reasons and ramifications of Harry’s decision. “You can’t just leave.”

Strangely enough, he seemed dismayed at the very idea.

“Don’t act upset now,” Harry told him, taking a pointed step back and breaking the muffling spell. “This is all because of you. If you didn’t want your brother – half or not – running away, then you shouldn’t have been the one to push him in the first place. The way I see it, he ended up on that rooftop because of you.”

At that, Simon went rigid, his skin ashen.

It was cruel in a way, but Harry was all out of kindness.

He took a moment to just study the other, then he scoffed and pulled the door open. He left Simon in the empty room without a backwards glance.

    Summary

They’d been dating for over a year and Bernard still hadn’t met Tim’s family. Bernard knew that Tim was an anxious, paranoid mess, and that he was just trying to keep things under control, but still. Not knowing Tim’s family made their whole thing feel less. . .permanent. Easier for Tim to end when he got scared. Easier for Tim to leave Bernard alone. Again.

But Bernard was determined to make this work, because this past year had been the best year of his life and that was in large part due to Tim. So he’d done what normal, healthy people did in relationships and communicated his concerns to his boyfriend.

And Tim had proven, once again, that he actually listened to Bernard.

Or, Bernard bonding with the Batkids while also dealing with his trauma from his parents and from the cult. And maybe finding a family along the way.

    “Also, Tim thinks you’re straight.”

    “But. . .I am?”

Huh. Bernard shrugged. “If you say so.” He’d give it about six months before someone got a picture of Nightwing making out with the Flash.

    _

They sat side-by-side, a couple floors up, swinging their legs out over the edge. “Do you know what that was about?” Duke asked.

Jason shook his head, but not in a way that said ‘no’; in a way that said ‘drop it’. “Bernard’s a mystery.”

Duke nodded, staring out over the busy city evening.

Bernard was a mystery and Tim was a detective. No wonder they’d found each other.

    _

“He showed me the videos.” The words came out before Bernard really thought about them.

Tim’s fingers paused for a moment. “Oh.”

“Yeah.” And then, for some reason, Bernard was crying again. But this time, Tim was there to keep him from folding in on himself.

“He—he was so little,” he gasped out. “So young.”

Tim stroked his hair. “Yeah. Yeah, he was Bear.” Tim’s voice shook a little, too.

“I was so little.” The words bubbled up from somewhere deep inside him. “I was so young.” And he had been. He had been. And he wasn’t sure if he was talking about the cult or his parents or both, but he had just been a kid. “How—how could—how could they. . .?” How could they hurt me like that?

He couldn’t get the question out, but he didn’t need to. Tim understood. Tim always understood.

“I don’t know,” Tim whispered. Bernard sighed and leaned into him, thankful that he hadn’t made up an answer just to make him feel better. Honesty. Honesty was something to be treasured from Tim. “I don’t know, but you’re safe now. I’m here and I’m not leaving you.”

"I'm pretty good at stitching up my own wounds, actually."

    "Your hands are shaking."

Tim sighed and handed Bernard the needle.

Bernard worked silently, cleaning the wound and stitching it with surprising professionalism. Tim watched him in equal silence, up until Bernard reached into the first aid kit for bandages and Tim couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you going to ask how the first aid kit ended up in your bedroom?"

"That depends," Bernard said. "Are we going to actually talk about it?"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means that I can either pretend to be clueless or not. Which do you want?"

"That's still not clearing anything up."

Bernard sighed. "Tim, I know it's you."
