He wasn’t! No matter what Georgie would say about him, with that annoyingly fond roll of her eyes. That’s why he was here, at an abandoned house in the middle of the night. Right.
He just had . . . a hunch. And he really didn’t want to deal with the teasing that would come with the admission that yes, Jonathan Sims, famed paranormal skepticist, had had an encounter someone might even call “spooky.”

That was the first thought he had as he drifted slowly back into consciousness. Well, it wasn’t really a distinct thought, as then he was still half-asleep, but it was a vague feeling he was more than happy to drift in for a while longer.
(That is, until the bubble pops, and he is swiftly thrust back into when he was eight years old again, watching someone disappear. But... maybe now it was different?)

His hand hesitates over the door handle. Scott shouldn’t have come here, he knows. All of it would be so much easier if he pushed him away. But somehow, he finds himself turning the handle anyway, opening the door to where he knows the very source of his heartache lies.
Jimmy waits for him, like he always does, bright and welcoming. So, Scott puts on a smile and pretends he doesn't remember that they were in love: in another world.

Holland gave him an apologetic wince before he looked back at Holly.
“Holly,” he said, gentler, “Look at me.” He waited until Holly complied with his request. “Honey, did you punch Janet in the face?”

Jody knew Colt has some problems with pain after everything he’s been through. It was expected, and it wasn’t going to drive her away from him. No matter how much Colt complains about his back brace not being sexy or apologizes for needing to take a minute because of the pain.
She signed up for this from the beginning. She wasn’t leaving him for anything now. She’s latched on tight.
Jody wonders how he ever survived without her when she finds out he should’ve been using a WHEELCHAIR THIS WHOLE TIME!!
