There is a distant sound from below. You startle and whirl around to see a bright dot stumbling towards the base of the tree. Curious, you clumsily make your way down the woven branches and stand just above the little nook you and Loop used to theorize, plan, and chat in.
The figure falls to their knees, clutching their face as shaky sobs interlaced with harsh breathing leaves them. They claw at their bangs and, in a frustrated movement, rip the hat off their head so that they can better pull at their darkless hair. They scream, not in agony, but in anguish. You—

“They’ll never want to travel with me. And even if for whatever reason they do, they’ll leave.” His smile was starting to get really unnerving. “If they ever find out what I’m really like, they’ll hate me, and leave.”
Siffrin laughed again. “But it doesn’t matter anymore. I’m stuck because my wish is fighting the King’s wish, right? I think my wish is taking priority over the King’s since it’s more recent and has more intent, but if neither wish can be fulfilled, then there’s no way out.”
“Surely you could just ask–”
“If neither wish can be fulfilled,” Siffrin continued, talking as if Loop didn’t even speak, “then I just have to break the wishes.”
(An ACT 5 scenario where Siffrin realizes that the only way to break a wish is to erase the wishmaker, and Loop must do whatever they can do stop them.)

Your steps slow as you make it to the large trunk of the tree. How does one pray to a tree? Is it even possible? Maybe it serves as a sort of conduit between you and the Universe. A way to send the greater power a message.
Well, you know how to ask for a favor, at least. That's a good place to start. You scan the ground for a leaf that stands out to you, and eventually pick one up that's a pale green teetering on the edge of yellow. The layer of frost on it is thin, causing it to almost glitter in the night. Holding it close, you think about your wish very strongly.
You want to feel less stressed every day. You want to find something concrete to hitch your beliefs on. You want to be a better person. You just wish you had a little more time to figure things out.

You wish you could stay with your family, all of your family, forever and ever without ever having to say goodbye.Nothing is fixed when Siffrin loops back after the King kills Bonnie. The world is reset, yes, but nothing is okay.

Summary
While he managed to recover from his fever and began traveling again with their family, Siffrin’s sleep-crafting is still a problem, coupled with their post-loop nightmares. Fearing they’d hurt someone, they try to avoid sleeping to fix this.
Turns out, it's very hard to hide sleep deprivation after a while. Siffrin learns this the hard way and his family tries to do whatever they can to help.

Noise continues to filter in, laughing and shouting, distant music. Far away, people are partying. Maybe... maybe you could just... leave? Un-not-invite yourself and eat a bunch before drowning yourself in alcohol, or something.
Never mind, you perk up physically; that sounds like a great idea. Not having to deal with your thoughts right now sounds like genuine heaven handed to you on a platter. As long as you're careful enough to not run into your friends, you'd probably be fine. You need air, a distraction. And Mirabelle looks so tired... you look at her, turning your head. You don't want to accidentally disturb her by being here.
or, siffrin gets drunk, fails to deal with their trauma, and promptly resorts to something extreme.

Introducing our actors.
First, coming from... First is plain old Siffrin. No middle or last names. The party's resident trap checker and funny jokespunperson, now with two eyes!
Mirabelle. Blessed by the Change God and the sole survivor of her house, she's on a mission to take down the King. Originally from Dormont before the curse's arrival.
Isabeau, the party's fighter. Tall, strong and deceptively airheaded. Hailing from Jouvente as a defender who stepped up when no one else would.
Odile, the Researcher. An older lady from Ka Bue joining the party because, quote, ‘leaving the fate of the country to a bunch of young ones would give me an ulcer'. (They're not. At least, mostly not.)
Last but not least, Bonnie! A child from a coastal town named Bambouche, joining the party to save their sister and also because there's no where else for them to go. They're only here because Siffrin noticed them walking in the middle of the night. Good job, Siffrin!

Summary
Finally free from the loops, Loop struggles with their identity and sense of self. How much of their old self remains, and how much of themself must they construct amidst the ashes of what they've been through? Freed from the loops as well, Siffrin must face his trauma and learn to cope with normal life starting once again. Their family won't let either of them struggle alone (as much as they may try to), and must learn how to interact with and care for two loved ones who have been through something terrible. The road ahead is long and arduous. None of them may ever be the same. But together, they may also find comfort and healing, and come out the other side, if not stronger than before, then at least strong enough to keep on living.
